Week 2 is here! Fairways are the final push.
We have a tractor mounted unit “Toro 880” capable of aerifying 26 acres of Fairways by the end of the week. Thats 20 football fields!
The image below shows the first step of the process. Approximetly 4 to 5 holes are completed each day.

The plugs that remain are allowed time to dry before dragging occurs. Shown below. This breaks up the plugs leaving thatch and planty material on the surface.

Once the fairways are dragged the remaining material is blown to the outskirts of the fairway for removal.

Courses differ as mentioned before. Others may blow the cores off immediately and then topdress with sand. But budgets affect agronomic practices ergo different techniques occur.
An Update on Greens:
Day of Greens Aeration: 7 Days ago.

The greens are “healing” nicely. Mowing does not occur for approximently 7-10 days. It allows time for the turf to grow and any sand left on the surface can work its way into the soil profile.
Another long week ahead but aeration is a must to improve and sustain plant health.
Enjoy the week.
