Needle Tine and Sod

Turfgrass needs air to breathe too! Needle tining is a great way to vent the greens while having a smaller impact on golf compared to Spring/Fall Aeration. (Pulling cores)

Roller follows behind to smooth out the surface.

Had time to focus on the unsightly low areas in fairways today.

Standing water has been an issue this year due to high rainfall amounts.

The picture above is what happens when the water is left untouched and soaks in the sun.

To correct this…we simply raise the low spots up and re-sod.

Sod cut around low areas too to allow for a steady, less dramtic raised area.

Add soil/sand mixture to desired height.

Smooth out, tamp, repeat and add some starter fertilizer. Then begin laying the sod.

Rolled smooth when complete.

Final product…low area raised and sodded.

Have a good week.
