Due to the recent news headlines…I thought it would be a fitting time to get back to the blog. After a 1 year hiatus…I must say all is well and the golf course is still alive.
So. It’s winter time! What are we up to? In addition to snow removal and tree work…miscellaneous projects take place. In this case, there happened to be a garden on our 13th tee that was to be removed. Surrounded by boulders, it was quite the project indeed.

Took 7 work days to remove just the soil. That turned out to be approximately 100-120 trips with the dump truck, which roughly held 4 tons a load.

At least 400 tons of soil.

Once the unwanted material was removed…we could begin creating the wall.

Took a few days just to relocate the rocks. Some bigger than others…

It eventually started to all come together…and I must say…it is cool to think this could be here for many years to come.

The once garden will be seeded in the spring.
During this project, a water well was discovered. If there is a future need for more water, we will have an option.

Perfect weather allowed us to complete this project in a reasonable amount of time. Round trip from job site to dump was 1.3 miles averaging 8-10 m.p.h. Multiple trips required frozen ground…for the heavy equipment could cause damage to the course. Fortunately we were able to make our own ice road.

Thanks for viewing…I shall blog again soon.
